Officers Found Not Liable on Excessive Force Claim

In a five-day jury trial, two suburban police officers were found not liable on a claim they used excessive force to take an apartment resident into custody following complaints of a loud party and fight in the parking lot.

Tom Weiler and John Masters successfully defended the officers before Judge Charles Kocoras in federal court in Chicago. The federal jury also rejected the plaintiff’s claims of battery and the intentional infliction of emotional distress
