Marcy DeFalco has more than twenty-five years’ experience in professional negligence litigation and has participated in the defense, through trial, of obstetricians, orthopedic surgeons, neurosurgeons, otolaryngologists, urologists, family medicine and internal medicine physicians, radiologists, anesthesiologists, including pain management, emergency medicine physicians, general surgeon, gastroenterologists, and ophthalmology, along with nurses, nursing homes and general dentists. Throughout her career Ms. DeFalco has participated in excess of forty professional negligence cases tried to verdict both as lead counsel and as a second chair in DuPage, Kane and Will Counties, along with Cook County and other collar counties including Winnebago, Kankakee and LaSalle Counties. She has also tried general casualty and property damage claims to verdict. Ms. DeFalco has regularly spoken to healthcare providers on issues concerning medical negligence matters and has spoken to physicians about litigation issues at seminars presented by professional liability insurers.
Ms. DeFalco is a graduate from Northeastern Illinois University where she was a member of the women’s volleyball team. She is a cum laude graduate of The John Marshall Law School and a member of the Order of John Marshall, representing the top fifteen percent of her graduating class. While in law school, Ms. DeFalco earned West Publishing Corpus Juris Secundum Award for Excellence in Torts. In recognition of her extensive trial experience, in 2020, Ms. DeFalco was nominated for membership in American Board of Trial Advocates.
